Boys love adventure, that's why Boy Scouting is so great. We love to camp monthly throughout the active program year and go to many different locations throughout the lovely state of Michigan. Canoe trips, hiking, cycling, swimming, zip-lining, and so much more are offered in idyllic settings and great memories are formed through fun activities.
Developing strong leaders is important to us, just as much as promoting our scouts up the ranks of Boy Scouting. We have an 85% rate of boys attaining the highest rank of Eagle Scout. Plenty of opportunities are available to our boys through community service, Order of the Arrow, Nationally recognized leadership programs, and many more await our boys.
Having fun is also a big part of Scouting and the friendships and camaraderie that comes along with the Troop dynamic. Troop meetings offer plenty of fun playing games with each other- Capture the Flag is always a favorite, but also Limbo, Frisbee, and more traditional Scout relay games to improve skills are enjoyed every week. Our troop is small enough to allow all boys ample opportunity to try their hand at leading. We also work with a Cub Scout Pack mentoring the younger Scouts grooming them to become capable Boy Scouts one day. A great deal of learning comes from older boys teaching younger ones.
Our boys participate in the prestigious Mackinac Island Scout Service Camp every summer. This experience is like no other for area scouts. They have the opportunity to interact with the public in a professional environment providing a valuable service to their state. Every boy who is chosen to attend can't wait to go back again and again!
We welcome new members and visitors curious about joining on this wonderful adventure in Scouting. Please contact our Scoutmaster, Chris Lord at 248-930-3122 / firstname.lastname@example.org.
